Blues Album of the Month – Monster Mike Welch and Mike Ledbetter

One of the East Coast USA’s most accomplished and renowned guitarists is Monster Mike Welch. Welch covered in the music industry a length of time approaching 25 years, both as a musician with his own band, as guitarist for Sugar Ray & the Bluetones, recorded with the Mannish Boys and Sugaray Rayford Bands plus sharing the stage from early days with the likes of Ronnie Earl, Johnny Winter, Duke Robillard, Luther Guitar Jr Johnson, Johnny Copeland, Junior Wells, Joe Walsh and actor Dan Aykroyd, who incidentally gave Mike his “Monster Mike” nickname.

Now Mike Welch has teamed up with vocalist / guitarist Mike Ledbetter, formerly of the Nick Moss Band who has also previously teamed up with Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters as well, now to create a simply phenomenal new release together with “Right Place, Right Time” – distributed through Only Blues Music in Australia via the famous stable of the Delta Groove label.

Alongside Welch and Ledbetter is an all-star cast featuring pianist/organist Anthony Geraci, bassist Ronnie James Weber and drummer Marty Richards, along with special guests Laura Chavez on guitar and saxophonists Doug James and Sax Gordon.

Check out this brand new release from Monster Mike Welch and Mike Ledbetter featured through July as Blues Album of the Month on Feel Good Revival Thursdays from 10pm-12 on your local sound 2RRR-88.5FM and streaming on www.2rrr.org.au
