Cosmic Cowboy Cafe turns 21 today

Happy Birthday to the Cosmic Cowboy Cafe, celebrating 21 years on air today!

In the cosmic cowboy (and presenter) Eddie White’s own words:

I was a great fan of 2RRR’s Weekend Country programs and in 1996 decided I wanted to be a part of it all. Having completed the Radio Training Course (along with 2RRR luminaries Peter Bryant and Bruce Flarrety) I was offered 6.00-8.0am Sundays. After serving my time, I then got Sundays – a little more civilised timeslot.

For the last 10 years I’ve had 5.00-7.00pm Fridays where I did my apprenticeship with Sharon Raphael ( whose son, Mark, has just left 2RRR after 20 years !) back in 1996 when presenters took on trainees. I have served on the Board on two occasions, more recently as one of the longest serving Program Directors (Adult Daycare Director) in recent years.

For the last three years I have been a nominee in Best DJ category at The Ameripolitan Music Awards held in Austin, TX. I’m a three time loser, but have had the privilege of being a presenter for three years in a row. Over the years I have had many US country stars as special guests on the show.

Congratulations Eddie! Be sure to tune into tonight’s program at 5 pm AEST. Stream online here at or tune in live to 2RRR 88.5FM – Your Local Sound.
