Livvi’s Place at Yamble Reserve, will be the scene of a Family Fun Day on Sunday 18 May, celebrating the playground’s status as Sydney’s favourite new public space during National Families Week.
The popular all-abilities playground, built by City of Ryde Council in partnership with Touched by Olivia Foundation, won the Premier’s People’s Choice Award and has welcomed more than 200,000 visitors since it opened in March 2013.
City of Ryde Mayor, Clr Roy Maggio, said: “Livvi’s Place is a magical place. It’s all about families coming together and what better time to celebrate Sydney’s favourite playground than during National Families Week.
“I’ll be putting on my chef’s hat for the barbeque sausage sizzle. There will be kids’ activities, free entertainment, stalls and BYO picnic.
“I hope everyone comes along to enjoy this great family fun day and celebrate the important role that families play in building stronger communities.”
Livvi’s Place was also selected as Sydney’s Best Metro Greenspace by the NSW Minister for Planning and took out Australia’s top project management industry award.
Livvi’s Place features traditional play equipment as well as purpose-built play and landscape elements to be enjoyed by children with disabilities.
