There Goes That Song Again Celebrates French National Day

Robert Clary

Brian is featuring Frenchman Robert Clary in today’s “Special” at 3pm.   Robert first came to the attention of English speaking audiences in 1952 when he was one of the new faces in the Broadway production “New Faces of 1952” and later the film “New Faces”.  Now 92 years of age, Robert has had an extensive career since he began as a child singer in France in the 1930s, including a major role in the American TV series “Hogan’s Heroes”.  In recent years, he recorded several albums of songs by great popular music composers, including by Ira Gershwin and Jerome Kern in 1999. Tune in 2-4pm (repeated Friday 11am-12pm)
