Our feature album this week is from Aussie IDM producer Goof with his new album ‘Ascension’
There are many words I could use to describe Goof and the music he creates. In his own words, he describes it as “an adventure through quirky swamplands & funk-induced euphoria”. You’ll realise what he is talking about after you take a listen to any one of the songs of ‘Ascension’; they’re honestly crazy!
An infusion of funk and electronic dance music, Goof’s sound is completely unique and original. Songs are refreshing, exicting and ambitious in scope. His music takes sound design to another extreme. Each of his songs are constantly evolving; or you could say, ascending into something new and bold.
What I love about this album is the way in which it challenges expectations. It is a statement of Goof’s craft; a producer who is clearly passionate and excited about the music he creates. Moving from one song to another, you’ll never truly know what wild musical extravaganza he’ll throw at you next. He’s unpredictable, and if anything, a standout amongst the Australian music scene.
Featured Tracks: Inertain Theories, Hypothesis, Light and Dark (feat. Madeleine May) and Sentient Pleasures.
