JBrown – ‘SPLASH’

Our feature album this week is from electronic musician JBrown with his new album ‘SPLASH’.

JBrown is an artist from Sydney who has been active in the industry for nearly two decades. He begun releasing music back in the early 2000’s, during the time he was living in his hometown Auckland. In the past few years he formed one part of the group JBrown & The Mic Smith. Together, they released an EP and a full-length LP.

Moving forward to 2018, JBrown came back as a solo-artist, releasing his latest album ‘SPLASH’ in December. The new album reminds me of Aussie artists like Hermitude, Spit Syndicate, Urthboy and the Thundamentals. It infuses many elements of electronic production with funky percussion and groovy hip-hop beats.
