McGuire Sisters on There Goes That Song Again

Brian says “In our first hour this week, you’ll hear a range of artists from the 1930s to the 1960s, including songs by the McGuire Sisters, George Formby and composer Richard Whiting, as well as a special segment on comedian Jimmy Durante.

And in our second hour, Brian will continue with the series on studio orchestra leaders of the 1940s and 50s with Part 2 of our program on Paul Weston. This week, we concentrate mainly on his period with Columbia Records from 1950. There, in addition to his orchestral recordings, he provided the backing for many singers including Frankie Laine, Johnnie Ray, Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day and of course his wife, Jo Stafford.
