Last night, the 26th of November, the new Board of 2RRR were voted in by members. The new 2RRR Board are:
Chairman of the Board
Andrew has worked in Public and Commercial radio for many years in Switzerland and is the presenter of
Dazed and Confused on 2RRR. Andrew has more than 30 years DJ experience and has also worked as a Breakfast show producer, Music Director, Journalist and Presenter on live radio. His commercial experience includes copywriting and advertising production. He has a technical background covering IT systems, broadcast automation, traffic systems, audio mastering and compression.
I am really excited to be working with the team and hope to make a difference to the level of programming at 2RRR.
Katalin has been in the position for 3 years now. She has joined 2RRR 23 years ago and this is her third round on the board. She also presenter of Hungarian Radio Mozaik on Sundays. Qualifications: high school of economics Budapest (qualified bookkeeper and statistician), Corvinus University BA in economics industrial market research Budapest, Accounting 1-2 TAFE Sydney. Retired bookkeeper, co-presenter of the Hungarian Program, media representative of the Hungarian Council of NSW.
Bruce has been involved with 2RRR since July 1996. He was Finance Director for 15 years consecutively and two years in the above position. Bruce has also been a jazz music presenter continuously since September 1996, and presently also Grants Officer and Training Course Coordinator. He has had 43 years experience in the banking industry and 38 years as a professional musician.
Ethnic Programs Director
Dave started with 2RRR in 1994 with a morning Hindi Program. Changed to afternoon 2pm slot in 1995 withMAHAK. He brings management experience of twenty five years as Information Technology Director; experience with Community Associations, as President of Australian Hindi Indian Association, life member of India Club Inc., Australian Sikh Assoication and United India Association. Dave also has experience in Organising large Community Functions with overseas artistes and local Community Functions like Australia India Fair in 2003 and 2004.
Patrick Szewczuk has been with 2rrr as a host of Thursday Big Breakfast; a music and travel program, and also as music coordinator. He holds a degree in Psychology and is also a qualified carpenter and builder. He commits to every role and is dedicated to building up 2RRR to its full potential.
Marketing & Publicity Director
John began at 2RRR almost 2 years ago presenting a program of folk music with a little extra by way of promoting Australian singer/songwriters each Monday afternoons . He also presents a program of what is best described as vintage rock on a Thursday morning. Before life at 2RRR John spent some 35 years in the IT industry having first gained a BSc.in Computing Science from UNSW. Towards the latter part of his career John has been both president and secretary of the NSW chapter of the Business Continuity Institute. John is keen to see 2RRR become the premier community radio station in Sydney and would like to see us promote and develop more youth programs.
