Our feature album this week is from Melbourne rapper Ryland Rose with his new album ‘DORK’.
Ryland is a hip-hop artist from Melbourne who over the past two years has grown substantially as Aussie musician. It all started back in 2016 when he released his single “Almost Famous & Broke”, a song that would peak at number #4 on the Billboard Viral Charts and number #5 on Spotify’s Global Viral Charts. The single launched his career, and before he knew it he was flying to Sydney to meet with some of Australia’s biggest record labels.
Since then, Ryland has released his latest record ‘DORK’ in 2018. The album sees Ryland open up about many sides of his personal and performing life, such as balancing his day job as an Uber Driver with his other job as an independent musician. He describes this record as an attempt by himself to recapture his love for hip-hop music.
If you’re a fan of Logic or Allday, I’d highly recommend you check ‘DORK’ out. It is fun and a very well-written record coming from one of Australia’s most promising up and coming hip-hop talents.
Featured Tracks: Thrills, Donovan Mitchell, Blindfold, Blanka (feat. Dyl Thomas) and Unfinished in November.
