School Damage – S/T

Feature album this week goes to the Melbourne/Geelong wobbly pop foursome School Damage whose self-titled LP is fresh out on Chapter Music.

Originally formed as a bedroom pop project for musical power couple Carolyn Hawkins (Chook Race, Pronto) and Jake Robertson (Ausmuteants, Hierophants, Frowning Clouds), School Damage became complete with the addition of Jeff Raty (Richie 1250 & the Brides Of Christ) on drums and and Dani Damage on bass.

The album’s songs use everyday events, like going to the library or browsing ASOS, to explore emotional states of isolation, confusion and longing. As Carolyn puts it:

“I do think the best songs come from the worst moods.”

School Damage by School Damage is the catchiest, most charming debut album you’ll hear in 2017, and we’re proud to call it Feature Album this week on 2RRR.

Highlights: ‘Grown Ups’ and ‘Particles’.

Tune in to Breakfast & Youth Jukebox on 2RRR 88.5FM all week long to hear these songs and more!
