While we do not have a specific number of listeners of 2RRR, we can tell you that the 2013 McNair Ingenuity Community Radio Survey found that on average across Australia, 29% of the population listens to community radio, for an average of 14.5 hours per week. Our listeners are as mixed and diverse as the makeup of the population!

I really want to get involved in radio – where do I start?
Great! There are lots of ways to get involved in radio, and there are also plenty of areas that make up the wider radio world, including presenting, music, journalism, interviews, events, fundraising, marketing and sponsorship. Nearly everyone on commercial or government radio would have started out on community radio, so you’ve come to the right place. I have a great idea for a radio program…
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat thinking “wow, what a great idea for a radio program!”? To be a presenter on 2RRR, you must complete our Radio Training Course and be a member of the station. The course runs twice a year and will give you all of the skills that you need to get your great idea out on the air. Once you have completed the course and become a member, you can apply for a program through the Programming Committee.
Alternatively, if you have worked behind the panel before coming to 2RRR, then you can apply for our Record of Prior Learning trial, on condition of your program application being accepted by the Programming Committee.
How do I get my Community Service Announcement played on air?
Get in contact with our office volunteers and staff on 02 9816 2988 or at email@example.com and send through any relevant information and material about your cause. Please note that Community Service Announcements are reserved for non-profit organizations in our local catchment area that are relevant to the local community.
Who funds 2RRR?
2RRR is a publicly funded radio station; this means that we receive funding through memberships, subscriptions and sponsorships. We also receive grant funding from local government as well as the Community Broadcasting Foundation for specific projects and skills development.
What kind of shows does 2RRR have?
We have as many different types of programs as we do types of people in our local community. 2RRR programs cover many different niche music genres, as well as magazine style programs on specific topics. I’d like to get involved in 2RRR – how do I volunteer?
There are many areas, facets and types of projects that 2RRR are involved in and wish to develop. If you have an idea for a project that you think will help benefit the local community, or just want to get involved and get a taste of radio please fill in our volunteer application form. This will give us the best idea of what you are interested in and where 2RRR can give you the best volunteering experience.
Can I listen to 2RRR online and on the radio?
You sure can! 2RRR has been streaming live since 2012. You can follow the “Listen Live” link on the front page of our website, and you can also listen to us through the Tune In radio app. If you’re in the area, tune your radios to 88.5fm to listen in.

To contact a program or presenter, address the person you wish to contact in the subject line of an email (e.g. Att: Midday Jazz). Or address any letters or parcels to the specific program/presenter.
